now the modules say they are 1600mhz because of double data rate i.e on each clock cycle two data transfers occur that is why your ram or any other ram that you buy from any other manufacturer would say. it shows 800mhz because the modules are running at 800mhz. i dont think the 800 to 1600 is due to multiplier. You must log in or register to reply here. To overclock your ram controller (part of the cpu) you need to either set the speed or like you did use the XMP profile. The reason for this is on LGA1055/LGA1056 the maximum supported ram frequency is 1333 Mhz so the bios defaults to that. Your ram is currently running at 1333 mhz becouse your motherboard only. You can have your ram run at 1600 mhz but then you would mostlikely have to buy a new motherboard. I don't like it as it ends up causing a lot of confusion like this.Kakao. They say filesizes are in MB or GB, etc when in reality they're using base 1024 which is supposed to be labelled MiB, GiB, etc. Task Manager shows my memory at 1600 MHz when in fact it's DDR3 1600 (800 MHz). Note that slots #3 and #4 are empty.Yeah Windows lies about a lot of things. I attach the CPUID/CPU-Z report and screenshots. However, when logged in, Windows shows the memory working at 800MHz. My motherboard supports these higher speeds and the BIOS also indicated 1600MHz as the supported speed. I replaced my old 800MHz 2x4GB RAM with 2 new 8GB RAM modules that work at 1600MHz. Finally, look for the DRAM Frequency and then on the. This will most likely be 1.65v, 1.5v or maybe 1.35v for DDR3, but it may be different if you have low voltage RAM. This will most likely display ‘Auto’, in which case, you need to change this to your specific value. After doing this, go back to the previous menu and look for DRAM Voltage. If it was my laptop, I would quickly revert back to Win10 since it is NOT certified as being compatible with the current Win11. The memory tab shows that it is can only run at 1333MHz speed allowed by the mainboard bus under Win11. I was used my ram 1600mhz while i am using windows 10 after upgrade to windows 11 my ram shows 1333mhz. The previous generations which used 1066MHz memory will be limited. any MBP that comes with 1333MHz RAM can use 1600MHz RAM. now running at 1600Mhz ungaged 64bit at post ive only got the standard cpu cooler on atm so i best leave overclocking the cpu for now till i get a bigger cooler for it and when i get a new graphics card Hd one al try OC itThe 1600MHz memory will work in any of the 2011 Sandy Bridge MBPs, i.e. And also changed the DDR3 memory voltage to 1.800v.
